AMMEX, Eastvantage, Ubiquity Turned Back Foes

AMMEX I-Support, Eastvantage and Ubiquity turned back foes in the Recreational A Division of the 2016 BPO Classics last November 5.

Leading most of the way, I-Support fended off Eximius, 64-59, at the STI Academic Center, Cubao.

I-Support, though, couldn’t get a lead by more than 11, that didn’t matter as Eximius also couldn’t get a momentum going even with three players in double digit scoring.

John Jocson and Santos churned out 17 and 15 points, respectively, for I-Support and combined for 19 rebounds.

Eastvantage dominated Bayer, 79-71, thanks to its sheer advantage down low.

With a 55-34 edge inside the paint and 23-8 in fast break points, Eastvantage led by as much as 20 points and was never threatened.

Magallanes found the mark en route to a 25-point showing while Salarda had 12 points and 10 rebounds for Eastvantage.

Arriola and Chinchontic paced Bayer with 17 and 15 points, but went down the drain.

Ubiquity tipped Sourcefit, 48-38, in a turnover-prone, low scoring affair

Both teams combined for 49 turnovers but Ubiquity managed to find away to break free by throwing its weight inside the paint.

Sagun and Lalosa each had 11 points and 6 rebounds apiece for Ubiquity, which utilized 16 players on its roster.

Only Pajayon registered double-digits for Sourcefit with 10 points that went along with 10 rebounds.

In Recreational B, Eclaro, Transcom and Sitel brought home the victories in the tournament organized by One Unite Sports.

Sitel pounded Converga in all departments for the 76-47 triumph.

Everything just worked for Sitel—from beyond the arch to inside the paint–to build a lead as big as 30 late in the game.

12 players contributed in scoring for Sitel with Manio and Rodriguez leading the way with 15 and 12, respectively.

Converga couldn’t get anything going, doomed by a 4-19 deficit in fastbreak points, 4-13 in output off TOs and 4-11 off second chances.

Eclaro, meanwhile, ran the floor to drive away Wint and Kidd, 65-57.

Pouncing on every opportunity to run, eClaro registered a 16-0 advantage in fast break points to pull away for good late in the game.

Jacinto finished with an impressive line of 20 points and 12 rebounds while Pedrajas and Castro conspired for 27 markers.

Transcom also made full use of its roster in its 75-64 win over Telstra.

16 players suited up for Transcom. Though only 9 scored, other still had contributed one way or another.

Falcotelo wound up with 15 points, Caringal with 14, Dela Fuente with 12 and Sasan with 10 for Trancome.

Despite repeated attempts to make it a close game, Telstra just couldn’t find away to get the lead.
