Aviation Upsets SBO 2; Global Commercial, V Power Top Foes

MANILA, Philippines – Aviation pulled off a major upset victory in the ongoing elimination round of PSPC tourney by trouncing league darling SBO 2, 61-51, on Thursday, December 8 at Asia Pacific College in Makati City.

Aviation’s starters did all the work for the team, but shooting guard George Veneracion topped the scoring sheet with a double-double feat of 22 markers and 11 boards.

The other two men in Aviation uniform also dazzled with their respective double-double performances. PJ Mundala drilled 13 points and picked up 16 rebounds, while Jeff Saguitan collected 12 markers and 11 boards.

Despite shockingly bowing down to Aviation, SBO 2 made sure that it would be a tough one for the opposing squad as the team was led by Rich Orosco and second stringer Billy Madero.

Orosco hauled 12 points for SBO 2, while Madero came off the bench to fire 10 markers. However, it was not enough to carry the brigade.

In the other fixture, Global Commercial pounded Fuelsave with a 74-65 win as Stephen Enario bombarded the team’s adversary with a 22-point output.

Meanwhile, V Power went on full throttle against CS3 with a 77-51 conquest. Karlo Dizon and Ambo Demaisip starred in V-Power’s triumph by contributing 17 and 14 markers respectively.
