ARMCO secured the top spot while Teleperformance settled for no. 2 as the 2018 BPO Classics Competitive Division semifinals begin on Sunday at the Phenom Sports Center in Makati.
Meanwhile, Concentrix clinched the third seed while Wells Fargo wound up fourth in the Final Four of the tournament organized by One Unite Sports & Events, Inc.
ARMCO swept the elimination round for an impressive 7-0 record, capped by a 90-82 trumping of rival Teleperformance last July 15 at the Phenom Sports Center, Makati City.
In a battle of undefeated squads, ARMCO came out unscathed, dominating Concentrix in points in the paint, 52-38, despite getting outrebounded 65-47.
Mark John Fraginal remained an unstoppable force for ARMCO, dropping 30 points and 14 rebounds in their final elimination game.
ARMCO faces no. 4 Wells Fargo, which propped up its semis bid with a 73-53 clobbering of Optum Global Solutions also in the last elims game, on Sunday in the second game at 2PM.
Teleperformance, meanwhile, quickly bounced back from that loss to ARMCO and vented its ire on SYKES Asia, 97-50, the week after.
SYKES didn’t stand a chance against Teleperformance, which dominated on all departments especially in points inside the paint where it got 58 whopping points against the 16.
Six players chipped in double-digit points for Teleperformance in the win, with Mario Maglinao leading the charge with 18 points and William Zan Johnston unleashing a monster statline of 15 points and 16 rebounds.
Teleperformance set up a meeting against equally-tough Concentrix, which finished with the same 5-2 card in the elims but slid to the third place, in the Final Four at 12:30pm, also on Sunday.
Optum Global Solutions and SYKES Asia concluded their Competitive Division campaigns with 1-6 records.
