Xerox Edges Shell To Cop BPO Classics’ Competitive Division Title

MANILA, Philippines – The long and arduous journey has finally paid off for Xerox as the red-and-white troop has set foot on the Promised Land by edging Shell, 70-67, to capture the 2015 BPO Classics – 2nd Conference Competitive Division crown on Sunday, January 10 at Makati Coliseum.

Jan Chistianne Oane had a solid outing to lead Xerox as he tallied 14 points, five rebounds, two assists and five steals.

Aside from Oane, two skippers in Xerox jerseys were in double figures in their scoring outputs as Karl Ian Atrero and Joseph Tamayo contributed 12 and ten markers respectively.

Xerox had a stellar regular-season run in the aforementioned bracket after a lackluster showing in the tourney’s first conference as the squadron swept the elimination round and ended with an impressive 6-0 win-loss slate.

Beating Center Functions in a nail-biting contest to book a ticket to the championship round, Xerox’s title-clinching performance was not a walk in the park as Shell gave the aforementioned brigade’s players a tough hurdle to leap over.

Shell was shepherded by Alex Eusebio, who fired away with a game-high of 15 points to come along with four boards, two assists and four blocks.

Assisting Eusebio in Shell’s frontline unit was Martin Tombucon, who had a double-double production of ten markers and a monstrous 18 rebounds.

Despite a satisfactory 3-3 record in the league’s elimination phase, Shell managed to reach the BPO Classic finals by pulling off a three-match winning streak.
