GEC Slaughters Street Chef; DECA 8990, Major Homes Pull Off Upset Wins

MANILA, Philippines – GEC achieved a statement-making victory in the ongoing 2016 Next5Hoops South elimination round by trouncing Street Chef, 81-49, on Sunday, March 13 at the EJG Lucky Gym in Parañaque City.

The merciless annihilation of Street Chef was led by Algin Apas and Ferdz Ali-Ali to improve GEC’s win-loss slate to 2-1 in the tourney.

Agpas bombarded the frontline unit of Street Chef with 12 markers, while Ali-Ali produced 11 points for GEC.

The hapless Street Chef heavily relied on Jobert Castro, who managed to drill the rim with a game-high of 20 points.

Four players in Street Chef uniform were scoreless in the fixture against GEC, while the aforementioned team committed 15 turnovers all throughout the fixture.

Meanwhile, DECA 8990 and Major Homes Properties pulled off major upset triumphs as both teams are trying to catch up in the rankings.

DECA 8990 edged out early favorites Aling Lucy’s, 93-90, as Mark Orias manned the offense by scorching the basket with 27 points.

On the other hand, Major Homes Properties dragged down Dasma Gym with a 97-86 conquest as Art Andres’ star shined the brightest by hauling 23 markers to come along with five boards, two dimes and four steals.
