MANILA, Philippines – After suffering a razor-thin setback to Aling Lucy’s on Easter Sunday, Phase One – GEC has risen from the grave to return to its winning ways by furnishing a statement victory over ET Homes, 97-74, on Sunday, April 3 at the EJG Lucky Gym in Parañaque.
Karlo Sumabat showed his killer instinct for GEC’s ongoing campaign in the 2016 Next5Hoops South tourney by nailing 30 markers and converting 6 out of 11 attempts from downtown.
In addition, Sumabat also cemented a double-double performance by grabbing 10 boards to go along with 5 dimes.
Jason Abao contributed 14 points to GEC’s victory over E.T. Homes, while Tony Custodio and Rob Clemente joined the scoring festivities by finishing with 12 markers apiece.
E.T. Homes, which was coming off a sensational win over DECA 8990 a day prior to its disappointing defeat to Phase One-GEC, heavily relied on Roger Domingo, who made 25 points, 4 rebounds and two steals.
GEC improved its win-loss standing to 4-2, while E.T. Homes downgraded to a 4-3 record in the continuing elimination round.
In the first game, Ryan Rosas lashed out 24 points to lead Dasma Gym to an 89-78 conquest of Street Chef.
Meanwhile, Karl Quiambao’s 36-point output torched Aling Lucy’s gutsy ballers on the floor as Major Homes cruised to a 98-90 victory.
