MANILA, Philippines – JAPAS Airconditiong Services Kingsmen furnished their first two-game winning streak in the ongoing 2016 Next5Hoops South tournament by routing Aling Lucy’s Panciteria, 88-76, on Saturday, April 9 at the EJG Lucky Gym in Parañaque City.
Raffy Butacan and Michael Acuña operated Kingsmen’s cruise control on the court as the team hammered a triumphant second-straight outing and improved its record to 3-4.
Butacan fired with 23 markers to go along with 3 boards and two dimes, while Acuna tallied with 21 points, 4 rebounds, one assists and one block.
Butacan and Acuna received a back-up effort from Elo Cantos, who pulled a double-double performance of 18 points and 10 rebounds.
Deniro Pacino also stepped up for Kingsmen with his own version of a double-double output by finishing 15 markers and 10 boards.
On the other hand, Aling Lucy’s downgraded its win-loss standing to 4-3 and heavily relied on Reynaldo Cudia in the match against Kingsmen.
Cudia managed to haul 20 points and one assist for Aling Lucy’s, while John Tuliao served as the squad’s second stringer by finishing with 13 markers.
In the other fixture, DECA 8990 Holdings, Inc. returned to its winning ways by edging Street Chef out with a 84-75 conquest, giving the aforementioned brigade with a 4-3 slate heading to its last contest in the elimination round on Saturday, April 16 against the winless South Forbes Villas.
Pesky skipper Jose Maldinger starred in DECA 8990’s assignment of handling Street Chef as he showered 18 points to come with 7 rebounds, two assists and two steals.
Meanwhile, Mak Wong tried to place Street Chef into the winning territory by amassing 21 markers and 3 boards, 4 dimes and one steal.
