Major Homes Secures No. 2 Playoff Slot By Taking Out Street Chef

MANILA, Philippines – Major Homes Properties is entering the crossover semi-final phase as the No. 2 playoff seed, cementing its position at the expense of Street Chef.

Major Homes sent Street Chef home packing with a 104-96 setback on Saturday, April 16 at the EJG Lucky Gym in Parañaque City to close out the grueling elimination round of the 2016 Next5Hoops South Tourney.

Art Andres took on the role of Major Homes’ smooth operator, tallying a double-double performance of 33 points and 10 steals to go along with 6 rebounds and 5 assists.

Major Homes did not solely rely on the valiant efforts of Andres as Carlito Quiambao stepped up for his team with 25 markers and 11 boards.

Pulling off an all-around feat, Quiambao also added 4 dimes and was able to convert 5 of his 10 beyond-the-arc shots.

Despite tasting a disappointing defeat at the hands of Major Homes, Street Chef never went down without a fight as Francis Lele Giussani scorched the basket with 27 points, 9 rebounds, two assists and two steals.

Three players in Street Chef uniforms were in double scoring figures as Manuel Juan had 15, Mak Wong finished with 12 markers, and Jobert Castro contributed 11 points.

The knockout semi-final round will commence on Sunday, April 24, with Phase One-GEC leading the four-squad bracket as the competition’s top brigade.
