GEC Clouts Aling Lucy’s To Enter Next5Hoops South Finals

MANILA, Philippines – Phase One-GEC proved that the team was entering the crossover semi-final stage as the No.1-ranked squad for a reason by overwhelming Aling Lucy’s Panciteria, 88-78, on Sunday, April 24 at the EJG Lucky Gym in Parañaque City.

Karlo Sumabat’s star shined the brightest in GEC’s campaign to take care of Aling Lucy’s as he flirted with a double-double output of 21 points, 5 rebounds, 9 assists and one steal.

Ivan Yaco also stepped up in GEC’s semi-final victory against Aling Lucy’s as he finished with 18 markers, 3 boards and one steal.

Despite bowing down to GEC, Franklin Mancio manned the offense for Aling Lucy’s, registering a game-high 26 points to go along with 5 rebounds, two assists and two steals.

Julius Sitjar and John Tuliao helped Mancio’s on-court assault by hauling 16 and 15 points respectively for Aling Lucy’s.

GEC is set to lock horns with Major Homes Properties in the finals to determine the overall winner of the 2016 Next5Hoops South tourney.
