MANILA, Philippines – The 2016 BPO Classics season’s recreational division kicked off on a competitive note as Sitel and Microsourcing opened their respective campaigns by copping stellar victories over their gutsy opponents on Sunday, May 1 at the Treston International College in Taguig City.
Sitel, last conference’s runner-up in the recreational division, torched newcomer PSG Global Solutions with a 72-67 conquest.
The collective efforts of Michael Vincent Manio, Mel Zapanta and Mark Odeomene manned Sitel’s on-court offense as Manio finished with 16 points, Zapanta hauled 15 markers, and Odeomene contributed 14.
Despite bowing down to Sitel, PSG Global Solutions was powered by pesky skipper JC Salvo, who had a game-high 21 points to come along with 6 rebounds, two assists, 3 steals and one block.
On the other hand, Microsourcing entered the winner’s column by clamping AMMEX I-Support with a 68-55 victory.
Jemmar Castro starred in Microsourcing’s season debut against AMMEX I-Support by topping the individual scoring output as he amassed 16 points to go along with 6 rebounds, 4 assists and 5 steals.
Meanwhile, Daniel Martin Cataros served as the muscle on the floor for Microsourcing by achieving a double-double performance of 15 markers and 14 boards.
John Paul Jocson had his own double-double feat to lead AMMEX I-Support, a team that first joined in the first conference of the 2014 season and has been a constant participant of the BPO Classics.
Jocson, an all-around and reliable gunslinger of AMMEX I-Support, tallied with 27 points, 10 rebounds, two assists, two steals and one block.
