MANILA, Philippines – League newcomer VXI sent a strong message to the entire intermediate division of the 2016 BPO Classics as the team routed the 2014 season winner Infinit-O with an 85-37 shutout on Sunday, May 8 at the Treston International College in Taguig City.
Starting wingman Louis Thomas Rodriguez led VXI’s conquest of Infinit-O, tallying with a double-double output of 17 markers and 12 boards to go along with one dime.
Jordan Pajarillo produced his own double-double by making 11 points and 11 rebounds to come with one block.
Coming off the bench, Emilio Callelero II contributed an all-around performance to VXI’s stunning victory by hauling 15 points, 6 rebounds, one assist, two steals and two blocks.
As Infinit-O succumbed to a painful setback, Federico Cruz was the only player in the lineup that was in double scoring figures as he finished with 10 markers.
On the other hand, EXL narrowly sneaked out of Accenture with a 67-63 triumph as Raniel Patrick Belen played a pivotal role in taking out their counterpart with 15 points, 12 rebounds and two assists.
Belen had second stringers Patlim Michael Reyes and Earl Garanchon in the supporting cast as both men finished with 13 markers apiece.
