MANILA, Philippines – Sitel managed to turn things around in the fourth and final frame to secure an 87-80 victory over Arriva Medical in the ongoing elimination phase of the 2016 BPO Classics season’s Recreational Plus division on Saturday, May 14 at the EJG Lucky Gym in Parañaque City.
Sitel’s gutsy rally down the stretch was spearheaded by Ralph Clarence Villas, who hauled a double-double output of 23 points and 12 rebounds to come along with two assists and two steals.
Meanwhile, back-up stringer Eugene Velo had a 17-point production despite coming off the bench.
Christian Angelo Aquino almost made a double-double performance by finishing with 13 points and 9 rebounds, two assists and two steals.
Arriva Medical’s fourth-quarter meltdown took the spotlight away from Ed Leonardo Salvador’s monstrous effort to put his team on the winning track as he amassed 42 markers, 9 boards, one dime and one steal.
Salvador also drilled 10 of his 27 attempts from downtown, while he received a back from Joseph Allen Paul Carlos’ 11-point output.
