MANILA, Philippines – Down by 2 points in the dying seconds of the final period, Eastvantage found a way to topple Ubiquity in the ongoing elimination round of BPO Classics’ recreational division on Sunday, May 15 at the Treston International College in Taguig City.
With a rapid dish of the ball from Joram Arzadon, Benedick Allen Tirol nailed a three-pointer to give Eastvantage a 62-61 victory over Ubiquity.
Tirol, who strutted his wares for 24 minutes on the floor, finished with 12 points and converted 4 of his 8 beyond-the-arc shot attempts.
Eastvantage also had a strong outing from Richard Salarda, who had a double-double performance amassing 13 markers and 13 boards.
Meanwhile, Jeff Bryan Tayactac dominated the rebounding department for Eastvantage with 13 to go along with 6 points, one steal and one block.
Despite suffering a razor-thin setback to Eastvantage, Ubiquity heavily leaned on Mark Lowell Lalosa, who had a game-high 29 points, 11 rebounds, one assist, 5 steals and two blocks.
While Eastvantage and Ubiquity had a nail-biting confrontation, Shell Business Operation smoothly cruised to a 60-46 win against HCCA Health Connections.
Royce De Guzman purchased a double-double feat of 11 markers and 10 boards for Shell, while Hernan Sison and Billy Madero 11 points each to place their team on the winning track.
