Ring Central fought within striking distance as starting wingman Mark Alayon was behind the team’s gutsy second-half rally, flirting with a double-double performance of 14 markers and 9 boards to go along with two dimes.
Jay-R Sumisim and Jared Along had 9 points each from Ring Central, while court general Ulysses Gonzales added 8 and was almost in double figures in the rebounding department by collecting 9.
Telstra engaged in scorching shootout with Ring Central as Ryan De Venecia bombarded the opposite unit with 12 points, 6 rebounds and two assists.
De Venecia received a helping hand from John Peneiro, who delivered 8 markers and 7 boards for Telstra.
Telstra’s resident bigman Chris Charon tried his best to protect the shaded lane and managed to contribute 7 points and 7 rebounds to come with one steal and one block.
