MANILA, Philippines – It all boiled down with less than 3 minutes to play in the fourth period when a go-ahead basket by Karlo Panti gave IMS Health the lead and eventually fortified a 72-71 win over Arriva Medical on Sunday, May 22 at the EJG Lucky Gym.
Having a pivotal role down the stretch for IMS Health, Panti finished 11 points and 8 rebounds to position his team on the winning track.
In spite of Panti’s heroics, Federico Mangantulao’s star could not be obscured as he shined 14 markers, 4 boards and two steals.
Arriva Medical proved that they were a tough match-up for IMS Health as 3 of its cagers had double figures in the scoring sheet.
Arriva Medical’s gunslinger Ed Salvador hauled 21 points, 5 rebounds and 3 assists, while Joseph Allen Paul Carlos added 15 markers to go along with two boards and 3 dimes.
Raymon Papa also answered the call of challenge for Arriva Medical as he tallied 11 points, 6 rebounds and one assist.
