MANILA, Philippines – Despite the neck-and-neck battle in the first 4 quarters, Sitel managed to secure an 83-82 victory over ARMCO in overtime period on Sunday, May 22 at the EJG Lucky Gym in Parañaque City.
With an extra 5 minutes of play, Sitel pulled off an astonishing triumph behind the heroic exertions of Mark Anthony Abeleda, Christian Aquino and Ralph Clarence Villas, who all achieved double-double performances against ARMCO.
Abeleda scorched the basket with his stellar 15-point production to go along with 10 rebounds, 4 assists, 3 steals and one block.
Aquino dominated the rebounding department by collecting 18 boards to come with 14 markers, 3 dimes and one steal, while Villas finished with 12 points and 11 rebounds.
Sitel also had good numbers from court general Ronald Martin Mallari, who had 17 points and converted two of his 5 beyond-the-arc jumpers.
Second stringer Eugene Velo likewise stepped up for Sitel by accomplishing his own double-double output of 13 markers and 11 boards.
Despite bowing down to Sitel, ARMCO gave its counterpart a tough test as Lorenzo Jacob made a 41-point output.
