MANILA, Philippines – After losing two-straight games in the elimination round of BPO Classics’ competitive division, Global Payments returned to its winning ways by edging out Shell Business Operations, 67-62, on Sunday, May 29 at the EJG Lucky Gym in Parañaque City.
Vic Brenzter Cardenas’ star shined the brightest in Global Payments’ campaign to enter the winner’s column and improve its win-loss slate to 2-2.
Cardenas, who played for nearly 39 minutes for Global Payements, furnished a double-double performance, tallying with 18 points, 14 rebounds and 3 blocks.
Cardenas received a helping hand from Jonty Cruz, who fired away with 21 markers and collected 5 boards and 6 dimes.
Meanwhile, starting center Richard Castillo also had 18 points to go along with 6 rebounds, one assist and 5 steals.
Shell Business Operations, which remains winless with a lackluster record of 0-4, leaned on Arjun Angeles’ 12-point production and Dhasell Doods Caadan’s contribution of 11 markers.
