MANILA, Philippines – The two protagonists in the championship picture of BPO Classics’ intermediate division has been placed as Accenture and United Health Group defeated their respective foes in the crossover semi-final round.
Accenture, which came in as the top seed in the playoffs, routed XVI with an 86-79 victory on Sunday, July 3 at the Makati Coliseum in Makati City.
Erwin Umali dazzled with a 22-point production to barge Accenture in the championship phase and then collected 8 rebounds and one steal.
Umali received a substantial support from John Allan Sarmiento and Christian Rodriguez, who unloaded 15 and 14 markers respectively.
Meanwhile, United Health Group survived a dogfight against EXL on Saturday, July 2 to occupy a Finals seat with a 50-49 win.
United Health Group heavily leaned on Rey David Santos and Roberto Valdes Jr., who finished with 14 and 12 points correspondingly.
However, Jeff Cangco served as the hero for United Health Group as he drained a beyond-the-arc jumper in the dying seconds to get the lead and the triumph.
