In last Thursday’s Next5Hoops Elite action, Nougat earned a 113-106 victory over Primus.
Four of the five starters for Nougat finished in double-figures but it was Francis Camacho who toppled everyone with 31 points in 31 minutes off the bench. After his high-scoring output, Camacho is now averaging 15 PPG in just 9 MPG. Antonio Lustestica had 20 points in the win.
Nougat was wax hot from the perimeter. They were 43-of-85 (51 percent) from the field en route of their 113 points. They also had more rebounds and more assists than Primus.
Primus have now lost two games in three days. In their previous outing, they fell short against Enderun College. Against Nougat, they had the efforts of Andrei Mendoza who had a solid double-double of 22 points and 11 rebounds. Paul Santiago added 17 points off the bench.
IBC also notched a win last Thursday over PLMun.
It was a pair of huge performances from IBC that propelled them towards the victory. Cedric Ablaza put up 26 points and 10 rebounds while Ralph Jeffrey Deles similarly had a solid outing of 27 points and 13 boards.
It wasn’t a strong outing for IBC from the outside, but they did go to work inside. They earned 34 trips to the foul line and converted 23 of them.
PLMun was a monster on the boards despite the loss. They held a 62-43 rebounding advantage that led them to a ton of scoring opportunities. The only problem was that they were shooting blanks. In total, the team missed 75 shots from the field.
Dannybelle Diocampo was PLMun’s high point man with 24 points and 19 rebounds.
