Top 3 Teams Continue to Roll in Next5Hoops Corporate Division

Ingram Micro dodged a major upset to stay unscathed even as Artesyn and Emerson Finance kept their spots in the top half of the Next5Hoops Corporate Recreational Division.

Facing a determined and hungry Emerson Network Power, Ingram Micro held on to a pulsating 76-74 victory on a last-second triple last Saturday at Makati Coliseum.

Emerson Network seemed to have nailed the dagger lay-in courtesy of Royking Mailom with only 1.5 seconds left, but Aries Parucha answered back with a three-pointer just a second after and bailed Ingram Micro out.

The thrilling victory was Ingram Micro’s six in as many tries, keeping them at the top of the pack.

Medel Dela Torre had 23 points and 20 rebounds, while Vincent Jorge added 22 points and six assists for Ingram Micro. Late game hero Parucha, meanwhile, added 12 markers off the bench.

Emerson Network’s Mailom and Zaldy Reyes, meanwhile, combined for 48 points in putting up a gallant stand against the league leader.

It was a lost chance for Emerson Network, which still hasn’t found a follow up to its first victory, to take down a contender as it dropped to 1-5.

Artesyn and Emerson Finance also remained at second and third, respectively, after resounding victories in the continuation of the tournament organized by One Unite Sports.

Roberto Carlos and Domingo Ete accounted for 44 points in Artesyn’s 73-58 rout of Solar Entertainment.

Artesyn led by as much as 19, 62-43, on a basket by Ete with over six minutes to play en route to its fifth victory against a loss.

Solar, which drew 19 points from Paulo Fernandez and 15 from Mario Gayagaya, dropped to a lowly 1-5 record.

Emerson Finance also kept Nexus Technologies winless with a 97-55 beatdown.

All players contributed at least two points in Emerson Finance’s fourth win with Martin Panteleon leading the way with 16 points, Jericho Cleofas with 15 and Ronald Valderama with 13.
