Cubs, R. Lapid’s, Black Label, West Ballers and J&J Overpower Opponents

The Red Cubs overpowered the Priminent Builders, 93-75, last October 30 at the Asia Pacific College in Makati.

Mark Pedroso had a game-high 28 points, while also adding 10 rebounds, and five assists for the winning club. Carlo Weber was his team’s second-leading scorer with 18 points, including two shots from downtown.

The Red Cubs won the battle of the boards which propelled them to victory. They gobbled up 66 rebounds while the Priminent Builders were only able to pull down 41.

In the loss for the Priminent Builders, Marwin Montejo had 24 points while Mark Sadsarin contributed 18 and 12 off the bench.

Moving over to the Makati Coliseum, R.Lapid’s easily put away East Side with a 19-point victory, 93-74.

Jason Santos netted 21 points as he led a well-balanced attack from R.Lapid’s. Rodel Dequilla added 15 points, Kirk Todoc with 14, and both Jeff Benito and Sonny Manangan each chipped in with 12 apiece.

R.Lapid’s capitalized on East Side’s miscues. The winning team had 27 points off of turnovers which helped them earn their victory. R. Lapid’s led by as much 23 points as they controlled the game right from the get-go.

Black Label was also victorious that day, trumping Mage, 90-79.

Black Label used a strong second quarter where they outscored their opponent 24-13. Mark Tarrobal notched 26 points and Arthur Delito added 14 points and five rebounds off the bench.

For Mage, Mauro Lumba’s towering double-double of 24 points and 21 rebounds could not lift his team passed Black Label.

Meanwhile in the Asia Pacific College in Makati, Mark Soriano’s 21 points helped earn his team, West Rembo, a win over the Manila Amigos.

West Rembo used the second and third periods to overwhelm their opponent. They had a 17-11 quarter, and then followed it up with a 14-11 outing after halftime.

Aside from Soriano, Kervin De Villa came up big for West Rembo with his 16-point, 10-rebound performance.

Jummy Andaya put up 26 points in the Manila Amigos loss. Christian Manalo was the only other player who had double-figures with 11 points.

Wrapping the day’s action-filled day was a 91-77 trouncing of So Kian by J & J.

The game was pretty much neck-and-neck up until the fourth period where J & J was able to pull away. They registered 27 points while holding So Kian to just 15 in the quarter.

Jason Manuel did the most damage with 27 points and eight dimes. J & J also got a huge lift off the bench with JR Olegario putting in 22 points, four rebounds, and two assists.

A striking difference in the game was three-point shooting. J & J knocked down 11 triples while So Kian had an unfortunate 1-for-11 shooting night from deep.
