Tsek Repablik, Wednesday Club, and Vanguards all won by a huge margin in Intermediate Division of the 2016 Next5Hoops Metro Manila – Central Leg last November 13.
The biggest winner was Tsek Repablik, who sizzled from downtown and dismantled Manila Amigos, 137-82, at Asia Pacific College in Makati.
With 16 triples, 32-second chance points and 30 fast break points for Tsek Repablik, Manila Amigos just didn’t stand a chance.
It turned ugly for Manila Amigos quick as Tsek Repablik built a 23-point lead at the end of the first quarter and didn’t slow down from there.
June Crespo was unstoppable for Tsek Repablik, knocking down 15 triples to finish with a jaw-dropping 50-point statline.
Jack Azcueta was equally impressive in the rout as he accounted for 23 of the team’s total 44 assists.
Manila Amigos leaned on Jummy Andaya, who had 33 points in the loss.
Meanwhile, Wednesday Club turned to its inside game to crush West Ballers, 97-63.
Aside from a whopping 76-48 advantage in output inside the paint, Wednesday Club also pounced on West Ballers’ 21 turnovers and turned it into 21 markers.
All players stepped up for Wednesday Club with Jordan Melano leading the way with 16 points. Mark Marcos, Emmanuel Baltazar and Jonathan Barriors each had 13.
Kerv De Villa was impressive for West Ballers with 19 points and 19 rebounds but his efforts went down the drain after the loss.
On the other hand, Vanguards pulled away late in the third en route to a 69-55 drubbing of Ballerhood.
A 17-0 run bridging the third and fourth frames was key in Vanguard’s victory along with a 42-22 advantage in points downlow.
Yvan Luduvice paced Vanguards with 20 points that went with 10 rebounds and eight assists while Karl Buenaviaje and Francis Junatas conspired for 21 points.
