Results, Wells Fargo, HSBC, StarTek Pull Through

The Results Company and Wells Fargo got a bit of distance in the end game while HSBC and StarTek went through the wire in the BPO Classics Intermediate Division last weekend.

Making full use of its roster, The Results drubbed IBEX, 68-52, at Camp Crame in Quezon City last December 17.

12 players chipped in at least two points for the Results with Aldrin Catong leading the way with 16 points and Jose de Vera adding 10 points and seven boards.

In contrast, only five from IBEX’s side scored led by John Lopez, who had 18 markers and 18 rebounds.

Wells Fargo also asserted its might over United Health Group, 74-63, over at the same venue.

Edward Herrera, Ralph Shappit and Albert Rodil scattered 14, 11, and 10 points, respectively for Wells Fargo.

Only four players accounted for 54 of United Health’s total scoring output, failing to draw enough support from the rest of the team.

At Asia Pacific College last December 18, HSBC scraped past Concentrix, 93-91, while StarTek escaped Telus, 68-66.

Kim Yoneyama got the last laugh in his duel with Erwin Macapanas, finishing with 37 points, 18 rebounds, four assists and four steals along with the victory for HSBC.

Macapanas dropped 31 points and eight rebounds in a losing effort for Concentrix, missing a hail mary three as the buzzer expired.

Meanwhile, Andrew Santos nailed the go-ahead basket with 33 seconds left to lift StarTek past Telus.

Santos paced all scorers with 23 points including the most important basket of the night for StarTek.

In the Recreational Division, Eastvantage and Converga emerged with contrasting wins.

Eastvantage fended off Ubiquity, 56-47.

Richard Salarda and Jeff Tayactac carried Eastvantage on their backs, combining for 30 points and 30 rebounds.

Ubiquity leaned on Joseph Meija and Dan Pedrajas, who had 17 and 10 points, respectively, but struggled to keep up in the rebounding department.

Converga routed PPOC, 83-60, in the other Recreational game.

Hotshooting duo of Chris Conde and Dom Pacana led the demolition job, churning out 25 and 23 points, respectively for Converga.
