Accenture showed their prowess after a 43-point demolition of their foe in Week 3 of the 2017 BPO Classics Recreational Plus Division Basketball Tournament.
Accenture had five players score in double-digits as they walloped Microsourcing, 93-50. John Allan Sarmiento had 20 points, six rebounds, and three assists, shooting an efficient 9-of-15 from the floor.
Kevin Marasigan and Jobert Otero added 15 and 13 points, both coming off the bench. Accenture’s reserves outscored Microsourcing’s bench, 44-21.
Accenture was already up 45-29 at halftime, but completely buried their foes after going on a 31-7 third quarter which pretty much decided the outcome of the game.
Roman Urubio had 13 points while Edwin Salonga chipped in 12 markers and six rebounds.
Aside from Accenture, Alere and Teletech registered victories in Week 3 of the tournament.
Alere almost blew a fourth quarter lead over IBEX but managed to hold on for the 76-74 win.
Joseph Carlos had an all-around game of 19 points, three assists, and two steals, shooting 6-of-11 from the field. Ed Salvador added 18 points and 10 boards.
Alere was leading 73-66 with just under three minutes left in regulation when IBEX went on a 6-0 run capped by William Aler’s basket to make it 73-72 in the final 1:30.
Salvador and Segundino Lumanog exchanged freebies, but Paolo Decena’s attempt with just six seconds left didn’t go in, allowing Alere to escape.
Aler was the only double-digit scorer for the losing side with 20 markers.
Teletech pulled away late for 56-48 victory over Capital One. Teams combined for just 12 points total after the first period, and the game was close until the final chapter when Teletech decided to increase the margin.
It was only a two-point Teletech lead entering the fourth quarter, but the squad was able to pull away with timely baskets.
Carlos Magalona’s triple with 1:41 remaining made a 10-point game in Teletech’s favor, pushing them to safety. Magalona filled the stat sheets pretty well, having 15 points, seven rebounds, six assists, and two steals. Onelle Balinton added 12 points for the winners.
Pocholo Legaspi (15 points, six rebounds), and Kim Comia (10 points, 15 rebounds) paced Capital One.
