Four teams went home with the victories in the 2017 BPO Classics Recreational Plus Division at the newly-built Phenom Sports Center over the weekend.
Microsourcing survived a close shave while SYKES Asia, Capital One and Ingram Micro enjoyed easy victories in the tournament organized by One Unite Sports & Events, Inc.
Enwel Luna nailed the game-winning jumper as Microsourcing slipped past Alere, 77-76.
Down by five with only 1:16 to go, Luna took matters into his own hands, scoring Microsourcing’s final six points to hand his side the pulsating win.
Luna scored all but two of his total nine points in the fourth quarter. He also had five rebounds.
Michael Guzman, meanwhile, carried Microsourcing for most of the game, scoring 22 points and hauling down 12 rebounds in his best showing yet this conference.
It was a sorry loss for Alere, which rebounded from a slow start to stay toe-to-toe with Microsourcing the rest of the way.
Meanwhile, Ingram Micro turned back Teletech, 68-57.
Arnell Manuel topscored for Ingram Micro with 14 points but made bigger impact in the rebounding division with 20 boards in just 27 minutes of action.
JL Luces and Aries Parucha scored 13 apiece for Ingram Micro and chipped in 10 and 15 rebounds, respectively.
After Ingram Micro pulled away in the third, Teletech couldn’t muster enough strength to make a threatening run down the stretch.
Capital One likewise dominated its foe, scoring a 63-48 win over IMS.
Despite a measly eight-point first quarter output, Capital One still led by as many as 19 points after kicking it up a notch by scoring no less 16 in each of the succeeding periods.
Almost everyone contributed in scoring for Capital One, but Kevin Florenciano showed the way with 11 points that went with five rebounds.
Kim Comia, meanwhile, had six points, seven rebounds, two steals and three blocks for Capital One.
Jerico Antiporda and Andrew Angbeng combined for 21 points to keep QuintilesIMS afloat.
SYKES ASIA had the most dominant win of the night, clobbering ARMCO, 71-47.
Four players wound up with double-digit scoring for SYKES Asia, which zoomed away after good after a 21-6 second quarter demolition.
Cyd Marcelino had an all-around game with 14 points, eight boards, five dimes while John Peter Jolejole, Jonjett Hernandez and Japeth Agum combined for 31 markers.
ARMCO was still in the fight after the first quarter but it was doomed by its horrible second period showing.
