QBE and Ring Central ran away with the wins while Stellar BPO, Shell Business Operations and CFOS were dealt with the tougher routes in the 2017 BPO Classics Recreational Division over the weekend.
It was a smooth 62-46 triumph for Ring Central (Sales) over KMC Solutions, leading by as much as 21 points late in the game.
Paul Concepcion caught fire for Ring Central, knocking down four triples en route to a 26-point showing.
Ring Central broke away in the second period, turning a 13-all deadlock into an 11-point lead by the quarter’s end.
Arnaldo Zotomayor led KMC Solutions in a losing effort with 14 points and seven boards.
QBE, meanwhile, used a strong attack in the middle quarters to beat AMMEX, 94-70,
Outscoring AMMEX 55-34 in the second and third periods, QBE managed to control the game for good and never looked back.
Marvin Bautista and Noel Sabordo collaborated with 16 points each for QBE while Joel Godoy turned in 13 points along with nine assists and four steals.
In other results, Stellar BPO nipped Eastvantage, 62-58.
Stellar BPO survived a last-ditch rally from Eastvantage, which trailed by 10 to start the fourth period but managed to tie the game with under three minutes left.
But a quick five-point swing gave Stellar BPO a 59-54 lead, which it would not relinquish, with a minute left in the clock.
Miguel Castillano came off the bench to pace Stellar BPO with 15 points and 11 boards while Manuel Hong III, Miguel Munoz and Joshua Ocampo chipped in nine apiece.
SBO also survived PSG Global Solutions, 64-66.
SBO closed out PSG Global Solutions with a 4-2 run in the last four minutes of the low-scoring fourth quarter.
Hernan Sison led the attack with 22 markers and nine boards but got ample support from the rest of the team with Joash Guinto and Billy Madero added 15 and 13 points, respectively.
PSG Global Solutions failed to follow on up its 21-12 assault and score just 10 in the final period.
In another close affair, CFOS tripped Wells Fargo, 54-53, on a game-winning freethrow from Floyd Narcida.
Narcida split his freebies with three seconds to play to give CFOS the win after Wells Fargo tied the game on a triple by Noel Alajas seven seconds earlier.
Narcida was stellar overall with 19 points and 14 rebounds, which is par for his usual output, while Jed Resuma chalked up 13 points, four rebounds and as many assists.
