Teleperformance continued to assert its dominance in the 2017 BPO Classics Volleyball Tournaments with their men’s and women’s squads picking up victories over the weekend at the Unilab High Courts in Pioneer, Mandaluyong.
Teleperformance’s women’s team swept Ingram Micro, 25-13, 25-13, 25-13 to make it three wins in a row.
Vicente had nine points including four service aces in the win.
Teleperformance’s men’s side was also victorious against the same opponent, bouncing back from dropping the opening set to close it out in four sets, 19-25, 25-19, 25-20, 25-21.
Sarmiento led the winners with 16 points on 11 spikes, three blocks, and two aces. Teleperformance is likewise 3-0 in men’s action.
De Guzman paced Ingram Micro with 17 points of his own, 14 coming from the attacks department.
IBEX also had an unblemished weekend as their teams finally broke into the win columns of their respective divisions.
Their women’s squad edged QBE, 25-17, 25-14, 23-25, 25-23. IBEX survived 22 points from QBE’s Martinez, who had five blocks and five aces. Sumanguit tallied 18 points for the winners, on 12 spikes, two blocks, and four aces.
The men’s team, meanwhile, overcame a 2-1 deficit to book a pulsating 25-10, 16-25, 23-25, 25-19, 15-12 victory over EXL.
Corpuz led IBEX with 12 markers while EXL drew 13 points from Acuna in a losing effort.
In the other women’s match, Alere made quick work of Capital One in a straight sets, 25-13, 25-22, 25-13 win.
In other men’s results, Accenture joined Teleperformance on top of Pool B with a 3-0 slate as well after narrowly beating QBE, 19-25, 25-19, 23-25, 25-14, 15-9.
Chu had 22 points for Accenture highlighted by 19 spikes. QBE was led by Callejo’s 22 points on 20 attacks.
Concentrix beat VXI, 19-25, 25-20, 25-20, 25-15 behind 19 points (15 attacks, three blocks) from Lu while Capital One nipped AMMEX, fighting back from two sets down for a heart-stopping 20-25, 17-25, 25-19, 25-15, 17-15 victory to cap men’s action.
Abraham had 23 markers on 15 attacks, three blocks, and five service aces for Capital One, spoiling the 20-point output of AMMEX’s Alvero in the process.
