Alere, Capital One, and SYKES Asia were the weekend’s winners in the 2017 BPO Classics Recreational Plus Division as they defeated their respective foes convincingly.
Alere first downed QuintilesIMS, 72-58. Alere limited their opponents to just seven points in the first quarter before continuing to add on to the lead in the next three periods.
Ed Salvador powered Alere with a solid double-double of 24 points and 13 rebounds while Joseph Carlos added 16 points in the victory. Andrew Angbeng had 18 markers for QuintilesIMS.
In the second game, Jonjett Hernandez dropped 27 huge points to carry SYKES Asia to a come-from-behind 71-60 win over Teletech. Hernandez shot impressively from the field at 12-of-16, and also dished out seven assists.
Fellow starter Cydrick Marcelino added 18 points and five boards for the winning side.
SYKES Asia went down big after the opening quarter, trailing 23-9 but Hernandez and Marcelino helped erase the deficit in the second frame to tie the count at 33 apiece by halftime.
From there it was a back-and-forth tussle between the two squads, and SYKES Asia prevailed after an 8-2 run in the fourth which gave them a comfortable 62-53 margin.
Carlos Magalona led three double-digit scorers for Teletech with 16 points, five rebounds, and four assists.
Lastly, Capital One trounced IBEX, 61-48. Capital One built their lead in the first half where they went on a 35-20 tear, their biggest lead in the game.
IBEX was unable to recover after that point, dropping the match.
Philip Fernandez had 20 points and 10 rebounds to lead Capital One while only Segundino Lumanog had a double-digit output for IBEX with 12 markers.
