QBE and Vocus Sales got the job quickly while PSG Global Solutions, QuintilesIMS and Stellar BPO toiled for the victories in the tournament organized by One Unite Sports & Events, Inc.
QBE got away with an 89-56 drubbing of KMC Solutions last Saturday at the Phenom Sports Center in Makati.
Joel Godoy paced QBE with 16 points along with seven rebounds and six assists while Noel Sabordo and John Pagkalinawan added 12 points each.
With sheer advantage in paint, QBE led by as much as 33 points as it also took advantage of KMC Solutions’ error-prone game, turning 31 turnovers into 34 points.
In the same manner, Vocus Sales overwhelmed Ring Central (Sales), 86-60.
Quick to punish its opponents, Vocus Sales cashed in on Ring Central’s 23 turnovers and got 32 points.
Four people shared the bulk offensive load with Richard Guillermo leading the way with 18 points and five rebounds.
Ring Central stayed in step for most of the first half but was also doomed by its nine-point fourth period output.
Stellar BPO, meanwhile, thumped Ring Central, 81-58.
Miguel Castellano topscored with 18 points and also had nine assists in the win while Miguel Munoz (12 points, 13 rebounds) and Erwin Rojo (10 points, 10 rebounds) impressed with double-doubles.
In the other close games, PSG Global Solutions nipped Shearwater Health, 52-49.
PSG Global Solutions held on to its measly lead, which never got to beyond six, in the fourth period to take home the victory.
Vaughn Abecendario carried the cudgels with 22 points, six of the team’s 10 in the fourth, along with nine rebounds, three assists and two steals.
Shearwater faded after the first quarter, where it even had the lead, 10-6.
QuintilesIMS beat Eastvantage, 63-61, thanks to a late-game run.
QuintilesIMS went on a crippling 13-1 blast in the last four minutes to stun Eastvantage, whose last basket was at the 4:15 mark of the last quarter.
Duane Tabuzo and Rey Colongon led the last ditch rally for QuintilesIMS, which trailed by as much as 14 in the first half.
It was a sorry loss for Eastvantage, which couldn’t keep up with its strong start after leading 32-22 at the half.
