Accenture pulled away late to drub Teletech, 91-70 and stay undefeated in Pool 2 of the Recreational Plus Division of the 2017 BPO Classics Basketball Tournaments last weekend.
John Sarmiento once again starred in the victory which pushed Accenture to a 3-0 record in the tournament. Sarmiento tallied 18 points on an efficient 8-of-13 clip, and hauled down six rebounds. Teammates Jason Sombrero and Kevin Marasigan added 17 and 16 points, respectively.
Accenture kept Teletech at bay for the first three quarters, before finally going on a big fourth quarter rally. Accenture recorded 16 steals in the win, and scored 35 points off turnovers. The winning side led by as much as 21 points in the final period.
Benjamin Trinidad’s 13 points paced Teletech, which fell to 1-3.
In other results, Capital One slayed the still winless ARMCO, 70-60 to bolster their record to 3-1. Capital One used a 26-13 third quarter to take control of the match.
It was Capital One’s bench which towed the team to victory as their reserves outscored ARMCO’s substitutes, 37-15.
Kevin Floreciano had 13 points, 10 rebounds, and two assists in the win. ARMCO was led by Patrick Guevarra’s 20 points and 10 boards.
Microsourcing fended off Ingram Micro, 72-63 to level their record to 2-2. Michael Dick Guzman led Microsourcing with 17 points on 7-of-10 shoting and 10 rebounds. Enwel Luna came off the bench to add 15 markers.
Archie Dator had 19 points for Ingram Micro, which dropped to 2-3.
