Personiv Stays Unbeaten; Converga Continues Rise

Personiv kept its spot at the top as action continued in the Recreational Division of the 2017 BPO Classics over the weekend.

Eastvantage and AMMEX got back into winning track after three straight losses each while Converga hiked its streak three in the tournament organized by One Unite Sports.

Personiv handily beat Ring Central (GCC), 66-44 at the Phenom Sports Center.

With a 4-0 card in Pool 2, Personiv remains one of the only two teams in the entire tournament that have yet to be defeated this early.

With a strong start, Personiv never looked back and led by as much as 24 points late in the game.

The duo of Ellis Opano and Paulo Cheng carried Personiv to the easy win with 18 and 16 markers with the latter pulling down 10 boards.

In contrast, Eastvantage got its first win after four tries with an 83-68 thumping of undermanned Shell Business Operations.

Richard Salarda and Lester Magallanes ran roughshod over their foes, who only had seven players, as they finished with 26 and 22 points, respectively.

Eastvantage led by as much as 22 points, 66-44, with the game all but decided midway in the fourth.

AMMEX has also snapped out of a funk after routing KMC Solutions, 75-48.

It was AMMEX’s first win since its 82-68 win in the opener of the Recreational Division games last June 25.

AMMEX pulled out all the stops to get back into the winner circle, besting KMC Solutions at every department to lead by as much as 29.

Mark Henbren Odoemene continued to be the go-to-guy for AMMEX as he unloaded 17 points this time.

John Paul Jocson had an all around game with 14 points, seven rebounds and nine assists while Edgar Santos added 12 points.

Converga, meanwhile, remained steady on its ascent with a 77-49 whipping of CFOS.

After losing its first two games, Converga is now at third place in Pool 1 with a 3-2 record.

Led by Christopher Conde and Jay Arambulo, Converga showed no let up after regaining its bearings in the second period.

Conde finished with 18 markers but missed all four three-point attempts while Arambulo churned out 16 points and 14 boards.
