SCMC-ARA and Goto Pilipinas both scored lopsided wins over their counterparts in Week 4 of the Next5Hoops Corporate last Saturday at the Phenom Sports Center.
SCMC-ARA asserted its might to down Solar Entertainment, 80-60, behind 17 points, six rebounds, and five assists from Marvin Alcala who led five double-digit scorers for the winning side.
Alcala shot 7-of-13 from the field. Ryan Tabong contributed a double-double of 16 points and 17 rebounds while Andrew Felix added 14 points, six boards, and six dimes.
SCMC-ARA took advantage of Solar Entertainment’s depleted roster right from the get-go, as they went on a 26-16 first quarter before entering the halftime break ahead, 41-24.
Ryan Averion had 12 points and four rebounds for Solar, which didn’t have seven of their players in the roster.
Goto Pilipinas, meanwhile, pulled away in the second half to cruise past CityState Savings Bank, 104-83.
It wasn’t until the third quarter when Goto Pilipinas took control of the game, as they won the period big, 30-14 to finally put the game away.
Jong Castaneda came off the bench to lead five double-digit scorers for the victors, as he chipped in 17 points. Jeff Magan tallied 15 points, 10 rebounds, four assists, two steals, and a block in an all-around effort.
Goto Pilipinas’ triumph spoiled a 23-point, eight-rebound, five-assist effort from Michael Soliven who led CityState Savings Bank.
