It was Accenture’s time to shine in the 2017 BPO Classics Volleyball Tournaments as their men’s and women’s teams marched to contrasting victories in Week 8.
Accenture’s women’s team first swept Capital One easily, 25-20, 25-17, 25-10 as Nacachi poured in 16 points including 13 spikes.
Their men’s counterparts had relatively tougher time before pulling off a win. In fact, it was the only match which went past three sets as EXL gave Accenture a good scare.
After Accenture took the opening set convincingly, 25-9, EXL came back, 26-24. Accenture once again took the upperhand after winning the third set, 25-17, but the resilient EXL extended the match anew with a 25-23 fourth set. Finally, Accenture escaped in the deciding set, 15-11.
Delos Santos led Accenture with 21 points on 15 attacks, three blocks, and three services aces. Jaugan also had 21 points (17 attacks, three blocks, one ace) to pace the losing side.
In the other women’s game, IBEX Global downed Ring Central, 25-23, 25-13, 25-14. Reyes had 14 points on 10 hits and four aces.
Ring Central’s men’s squad also faltered, as Ingram Micro cruised to a 25-15, 25-22, 25-13 victory with De Guzman’s 16 points leading the way.
In other men’s results, Concentrix made quick work of Capital One, 25-16, 25-16, 25-23, The Results Companies swept AMMEX, 25-15, 25-19, 25-16, while QBE dispatched IBEX Global, 25-22, 25-21, 25-21 behind 20 points from Callejo to wound up men’s action.
