Teleperformance and The Results Companies both rose to the top of their respective groups in the men’s division of the 2017 BPO Classics Volleyball tournaments after winning five-set thrillers over their respective opponents.
The Results Companies stayed hot, surviving Concentrix, 25-18, 16-25, 25-17, 19-25, 15-10. Landicho powered the winners with 15 points, all coming from attacks.
It was Concentrix’s first loss in Pool 1 after winning five in a row, the same streak The Results Companies now currently holds. Escobido had 15 points as well for Concentrix.
In the duel for Pool 2 leadership, Teleperformance bounced back from a previous loss to narrowly beat Accenture, 26-24, 23-25, 25-16, 23-25, 15-9. Sarmiento scored 19 points for Teleperformance, including 14 spikes and three service aces.
Both teams are now 5-1 in Pool 2. Delos Santos had 15 points for Accenture.
In other men’s games, Alere swept Capital One, 27-25, 25-20, 25-20, while VXI also made quick work of Stellar BPO, 25-12, 25-8, 25-16.
In the women’s division, QBE gained a share of the top spot after downing previously undefeated Teleperformance in four sets, 17-25, 25-23, 25-19, 25-19.
Martinez dropped a whopping 31 points for QBE on 24 hits, four blocks, and three aces as QBE improved to 5-1, sharing the same record with Teleperformance. Uy had 23 markers for the losing side.
IBEX Global’s women’s squad split their games over the weekend. They first bucked a slow start and defeated Alere, 22-25, 25-16, 25-9, 25-7 as Macaraig had 28 points including nine from the service line. However, Accenture swept IBEX Global, 25-17, 25-16, 25-17 later.
