Accenture went back to back over the weekend to bolster their record in the homestretch of the 2017 BPO Classics Volleyball women’s division tournament elimination round.
Accenture first defeated Ring Central in four sets, 25-11, 16-25, 25-12, 25-17 before sweeping Ingram Micro the following day, 25-14, 25-17, 25-19.
Katigbak led the charge in both occasions for Accenture, scoring 12 points in each of the two victories. She had 17 attacks total in the stretch.
Teleperformance also picked up a win over Ring Central in straight sets fashion, 25-18, 25-20, 25-22. Vicente powered the current leaders with 14 points including 11 hits.
Ingram Micro lost their previous game against Alere, falling 25-16, 25-20, 25-21. Alere was led by Davila, who had 12 of her 15 points from the service line.
In the only men’s match of the weekend, The Results Companies swept Alere, 25-16, 25-11, 25-16 to close out elimination round action in the men’s division. Landicho had 14 points in the win.
That means the quarter-finals pairings are now set for the men’s division. Playoffs start on September 2, 2017.
The Results Companies, which topped Pool 1, will go up against the fourth-seeded Pool 2 squad Ingram Micro.
Pool 2 topnotchers Teleperformance will face Pool 1 no. 4 seed Alere; Pool 2’s second-seeded Accenture will battle Pool 1 no. 3 VXI.
Finally, Pool 1 no. 2 team Concentrix will meet Pool 2’s no. 3 side QBE.
Winners will advance to the knockout semi-finals.
