Teleperformance, ARMCO, Concentrix, Accenture Lock Semis Berths

Teleperformance, ARMCO, Concentrix and Accenture inched closer to the coveted championship in the 2017 BPO Classics Intermediate Division.

Victories last August 27 carried these four teams into the knockout semifinals happening this weekend also at the Phenom Sports Center in Makati.

Teleperformance handily beat EXL, 96-75, to complete the final four cast.

Using all the tools in its arsenal, Teleperformance built a lead as big as 28 midway in the fourth quarter.

Mario Maglinao was impressive for Teleperformance with 28 points and eight rebounds but he had ample help.

William Johnston pulled down 19 rebounds, Andrew Catindoy added 11 points and 10 boards while Joseph Gabriel chipped in nine points and 14 rebounds.

In the same fashion, Accenture barged into the semis with a 78-43 beatdown of Global Payments.

Accenture put the game beyond reach as early as the first half when Global Payments could only muster 14 points compared to its 31.

A 26-8 third quarter attack just ascertained Accenture’s dominance.

Mark Jerome Zaballa scattered 16 points for Accenture while Charles Mendoza added 12 points and 16 boards.

ARMCO, meanwhile, frustrated Optum Global Solutions, 87-78, in the other quarterfinals game.

With Optum closing in, ARMCO hung on to its precarious lead to survive to the next round.

The duo of Lorenzo Jacob and Alwin Elinon took charge for ARMCO, which never let Optum closer than four points late in the game.

Jacob and Elinon had 23 points apiece and combined for 21 rebounds in an impressive effort.

In the closest game the entire weekend, Concentrix knocked out Wells Fargo, 109-99, in overtime.

After a thrilling shootout between both teams in the second half, Wells Fargo suddenly fired blanks in extra time as Contentrix pulled away.

Teyron Hermoso took over in OT as he finished with 15 points while Christopher Catamora and Dave Torregoza got things done in regulation with 22 and 19 points, respectively.

It was a sorry loss for Wells Fargo, who had a chance to break the game wide open with a 15-point lead early but allowed Concentrix to gain steam in the second half.
