SYKES Asia, Accenture, IBEX and Teletech completed the semifinals cast of the 2017 BPO Classics Recreational Plus Division over the weekend at Phenom Sports Center.
IBEX and SYKES Asia won by a small margin over their respective foes while Teletech and Accenture easily worked their way into the penultimate round this Sunday.
SYKES Asia beat Capital One, 59-57, in a come-from-behind fashion.
Down 11 at the half, SYKES Asia came charging in the second half to even things up before two free throws from Jonjett Hernandez with 10 seconds left sealed the win.
John Jolejole once again paced SYKES with 12 points and six boards while Hernandez and Christian Dayao chipped in 11 markers each.
Capital One had four players in double digits but just couldn’t get the break down the stretch.
Accenture, meanwhile, dumped Alere, 82-41.
It was all Accenture from the get go, with the final count its biggest lead at 41 points.
Nearly everyone contributed in scoring for Accenture but Kevin Marasigan stood out with 21 points and seven rebounds off-the-bench.
Everything clicked for Accenture as it also took advantage of Alere’s error-prone game, getting 22 points off turnovers and 16 from fastbreaks.
Eugene Roque and Joseph Carlos combined for 21 points for Alere while the rest of its team only contributed 20.
In another rout, Teletech dominated QuintilesIMS, 78-49.
A strong first half set the tone for Teletech which led to the 29-point victory.
All but one of the 12 players fielded in scored at least two while four players chipped in double-digit markers. Onelle Baliton led with 13.
In contrast, no one from QuintilesIMS side scored more than nine points.
IBEX also held on to beat Microsourcing, 65-60.
IBEX had the upperhand all game long but Microsourcing wouldn’t quit, coming up with a strong fourth quarter to make things interesting.
But IBEX fended off all attempts for a comeback with Juan Carlos leading the way with 23 markers and 19 boards.
Norman Galas added 18 points for IBEX.
