SYKES Asia, Teletech Dispute Crown

It’s going to be SYKES Asia and Teletech for the final battle in the 2017 BPO Classics Recreationa Plus Division this weekend.

SYKES Asia and Teletech pulled off contrasting victories last September 3 to advance to the finals of the tournament organized by One Unite Sports & Events, Inc.

SYKES Asia rallied back to nip Accenture, 57-54, in the semifinals.

Cydrick Marcelino and Christian Dayao top scored for SYKES Asia with 13 and 12 points, respectively while Harun Umal and Jonjett Hernandez helped sparked the late rally.

Outscoring Accenture 19-7 in the fourth period, SYKES Asia turned 14-point deficit into the golden win thanks to the 9-0 run midway the quarter that swung the tide.

Kevin Marasigan had 12 points and seven rebounds while James Laxinto scored 10 and pulled down 18 boards for Accenture’s losing cause.

In the other game, Teletech methodically defeated IBEX Global, 89-73.

With six players scoring at least 10 points, Teletech was hardly threatened en route to the finals, leading by as much as 24 points late in the third quarter.

At the forefront for Teletech were Carlos de Magalona, who churned out 17 points along with five assists, and Onelle Batilon, who had 15 points, four boards and four dimes.

Teletech and SYKES Asia square off for the Recreational Plus crown on Sunday, also at the Phenom Sports Center in Makati.

Juan Lopez and Norman Galas paced IBEX with 19 and 15 points, respectively, but the team just didn’t have enough firepower to match Teletech’s.
