Defending men’s volleyball champions The Results Companies and three other squads knocked off their quarter-final foes to set up an interesting semi-final in the 2017 BPO Classics volleyball tournaments.
The Results Companies banked on Landicho’s 20-point effort on 13 attacks and five aces to fend off a pesky Ingram Micro side, 25-23, 25-17, 19-25, 27-25.
The win by the defending champions spoiled a 25-point performance by Ingram Micro’s De Guzman.
Teleperformance swept Alere, 25-13, 25-21, 25-21, QBE came back from a set down to edge Concentrix, 20-25, 25-21, 28-26, 25-19, while Accenture needed all five sets to emerge victorious in a tough battle against VXI, 25-22, 21-25, 25-20, 18-25, 15-10.
Callejo had 22 points all coming from the attacks department for QBE as his team overcame 26 points from Concentrix’s Janjan Lu. Accenture drew 18 points from Delos Santos.
In the semi-finals, Teleperformance faces off against QBE while The Results Companies will test Accenture.
In women’s volleyball, QBE, IBEX, and Ring Central all picked up wins in the final day of the division’s elimination round.
QBE made quick work of Accenture, 28-26, 25-22, 25-22, Ring Central disposed of Capital One, 25-16, 25-21, 17-25, 25-16, and IBEX Global edged Ingram Micro in a five-set thriller, 25-23, 25-19, 21-25, 23-25, 15-9.
QBE’s win saw Martinez drop 31 points on 24 hits, three blocks, and four aces. Ring Central’s Repuyan had 27 points including 10 coming from the service line, while IBEX’s Movillon had 30 in their win.
In the semi-finals, it will be the top-seeded QBE against IBEX while second-seeded Accenture battles Teleperformance.
