3W Builders and Royals beat their respective opponents as the elimination round of the 2017 Next5Hoops Metro Manila South Leg Qualifiers Intermediate Division came to a close last weekend.
3W Builders dominated Picole Coffee Brewers, 87-67. Five players registered double-digit scoring, with three starters notching twin-digits.
Matthew Riel had 15 points and seven boards while Jepoy Vito Cruz and RJ Eusebio added 13 points each.
It was tied at 17 after the opening quarter, before 3W decided to pull away after going on a 25-9 second quarter burst which buried Picole Coffee.
David Wrench led Picole Coffee with 16 markers.
In the other game, Edu Reyes had a sensational outing to carry Royals to an 85-77 victory over South Kings.
Reyes had 31 points on 9-of-17 shooting, with six field goal makes coming from beyond the arc. He also made 7-of-8 from the foul line.
Reserve Junard Caprida added 18 markers in the win.
It was likewise tied after the first period but Royals got going in the second frame, outscoring their foes 27-18 in the quarter. South Kings fought back to pull within one, but Royals closed out strong.
Mark Milan had 17 points and 14 boards for South Kings in the loss.
The playoffs of the Intermediate Division will begin next weekend.
