3W Builders and Cake Imagination scored terrific comeback wins even as Pound Dasma and ET Homes won their respective contests as the 2017 Next5Hoops Metro Manila South Leg Qualifiers Recreational Plus Division is now down to its semi-finals.
The Builders completed an amazing turnaround as they overcame a flat start, forced overtime, and pulled away there for an awe-inspiring 88-76 victory.
Angelo Corpuz had 25 points while Nano Alvarado added 19 markers as the Builders fought back after trailing 30-13 after the first quarter.
A 22-13 fourth quarter enabled 3W to send the game to extension, before they scored the first nine points of overtime to pull away.
Julius Jose had 16 points and nine rebounds for the Warriors.
Cake Imagination turned back PDF, 82-78, also negating a double-digit deficit from the get-go as they trailed 23-11 after the opening period.
Cake Imagination went on to outscore them in the next two quarters. PDF was still ahead, 76-73, with three minutes remaining, before Miguel Malabag sank two free throws. Later, he hit a triple to tie it at 78-all.
Roy Feliciano then hit key baskets late, to give the team an 82-78 lead which they were able to preserve until the end.
Malabag had 25 points while Feliciano added 20 markers in the win. Marwin Pontejo paced PDF with 23 points.
In other results, Nhavel Faisal had 27 points on 50 percent shooting, four assists, and four steals as Pound Dasma did just enough to hold off Tune Squad, 73-71.
Meanwhile, ET Homes blew out Sentinels, 102-81 in the only lopsided game of the quarter-finals.
Fran Asuncion led six double-digit scorers with 17 markers and six steals. ET Homes took a 54-26 halftime break and never looked back.
