The 3W Builders and Stats FXL both notched lopsided wins over their respective rivals to complete the semi-finals cast of the 2017 Next5Hoops Metro Manila South Leg Qualifiers Intermediate Division.
3W Builders used a strong start to dismantle Aling Lucy’s Panciteria, 103-81. The Builders opened the contest on a 10-3 and didn’t take long to erect a double-digit lead.
By the halftime break, it was already 50-31 as Aling Lucy’s simple had no answers.
Jepoy Vito Cruz shot 8-of-14 from the field en route to 21 points while Exequiel Panares had 20 points and eight boards for the winning side.
Mark Olano led Aling Lucy’s with 25 markers while John Diwa added 22 points and 13 boards.
Stats FXL dropped 40 points in the third quarter to bury Happy Cool and advance with a 110-101 win.
Already ahead by 13 at the break, Stats FXL opened things up even more in the penultimate quarter, exploding for 40 points as they outscored Happy Cool 40-24 in the period.
Jan Posadas led four double-digit scorers with 23 points, five assists, and three steals. He made 5-of-11 of his three-point baskets.
Dion Reverante finished with an all-around line of 20 points, 10 rebounds, and seven assists, shooting an efficient 9-of-14 from the floor.
Happy Cool would take the fourth quarter, 37-17 to make things looks more respectable in the end. Adam Ondevilla erupted for 37 markers for the losing side.
In the semi-finals, 3W Builders will face Royals while Stats FXL will battle Chargers.
