Angelo Corpuz scored 20 points while Joel Agustin added 17 markers as the 3W Builders dominated E.T. Homes, 89-66, to annex the 2017 Next5Hoops Metro Manila South Leg Qualifier Recreational Plus Division title last October 22.
Nano Alvarado chipped in 15 points and 17 rebounds while two others scored in double-digits as the Builders pulled away starting in the second quarter to break the game wide open and seal the championship.
It was relatively close after the opening quarter of action, as 3W held only a 20-19 lead. But things started to change in the next period.
Tied at 28, Alvarado and Corpuz led the Builders to a 13-4 run, with Corpuz scoring six points in the stretch.
The Builders took a 41-30 lead after that run and never looked back afterwards, putting away E.T. Homes.
The barrage even continued in the third as Agustin knocked down a pair of triples. A basket by JC Jutie gave 3W their biggest advantage at 67-41, which at that point was too much for E.T. Homes to overcome.
3W outscored E.T. Homes in each of the four quarters. They forced 23 turnovers and scored 17 extra points off of those miscues. The Builders also held a 58-48 advantage in rebounding.
Subrasas and Posada were the only double-figure scorers for the runner-ups, each tallying 15 markers. E.T. Homes shot only 22.2 percent from three-point area in the loss.
