With the 2018 BPO Classics in full swing, teams wasted no time flexing their muscles and pounding their opponents in week 2 of action over the weekend.
Stellar BPO, Ring Central, Ubiquity and SYKES Asia came up with dominant victories while Converga and Tetelech also joined early winners in the tournament organized by ONE Unite Sports Inc.
In the opening game at Phenom Sports Center last Sunday, Teletech defeated Yondu, 64-54, behind a strong fourth quarter attack.
Tuazon carried Teletech with 16 points and four rebounds but got ample of boost from the team’s starters, who combined for 34 points.
From just a one-point lead near the end of the third period, Teletech slowly and surely pulled away and led as much as 13 with six minutes to play.
Meanwhile, Stellar BPO destroyed PSG Global Solutions, 53-30.
It was all Stellar BPO from the get-go, opening with a 15-4 first quarter and never letting PSG Global Solutions score more than 11 points in each.
Flojo led with 10 points, three rebounds and four assists, Adoremos added nine points and five rebounds while the rest of the team contributed at least three points each.
RingCentral also pulled off a similar win, clobbering Allegis, 86-52, in the third game of the day.
With a 21-9 second-quarter run, Ring Central put the game out of reach and build a lead as big as 40 points down the stretch.
Three players wound up in double digits with Santos scoring 16, Concepcion 15 and Mallari 11 markers apiece.
SYKES Asia and Ubiquity continued the destruction for the day and turned back their BPO Classics foes with ease.
Ubiquity started out strong en route to a 62-42 rout of Digital Room, while SYKES Asia zoomed away in the second for an 82-50 dismantling of Eclaro.
Lacantle starred in Ubiquity’s victory with 16 points, while Rivera and Ramos provided solid back-up with 15 points combined.
SYKES Asia, meanwhile, relied on the dynamic duo of Marcelino and Pingol, who churned out 23 and 19 points, respectively, and teamed up for 17 rebounds.
In the day’s nightcap, Converga pulled off a come-from-behind 66-58 victory over Capital One.
Converga hung tough after a slow start, turning a seven-point deficit in the second quarter into a 14-point edge entering the payoff period and never looked back.
Lawas emerged as a top scorer with 14 points off the bench while Punzalan and Comia chipped in 13 and 11 points, in that order.
