Telstra pulled off the biggest upset of the weekend even as Mobility Chat, Personiv and ARMCO made it back-to-back in the 2018 BPO Classics Recreational Division action.
Telstra handed Ring Central its first loss with a 76-74 stunner at the Phenom Sports Center in Makati last Sunday.
Sealing its fiery comeback in the second half, Telstra snatched the lead on a bucket by Ryan de Venecia followed up clutch triple by Brian Zabate with 23 seconds left.
RingCentral, which dropped to 3-1, had one last chance to send the game into overtime but Paul Concepcion only made one of his three freethrows with two ticks to go.
Christian Sales finished with 23 points and Joshua Caracut chipped in 18 points for Telstra, which bounced back and moved to 1-1.
Meanwhile, Mobility Chat beat Eastvantage, 74-68, to stay unscathed in the tournament organized by One Unite Sports & Events, Inc.
With a strong start, Mobility Chat seized momentum quick, leading by as much as 23 points with 4:33 in the third quarter.
While Eastvantage, which remained winless at 0-2, managed to make things interesting with a 25-point fourth quarter explosion, Mobility Chat had enough gas in the tank to improve to 2-0.
Adviento topscored for Mobility Chat with 21 points and 14 boards but got ample help on the offense with Cubello, Sarceno and Santos combining for 46 points.
Personiv and ARMCO also picked up their second wins, turning back Wells Fargo, 60-54, and Eclaro, 89-37, respectively.
Patrick Ramayrat and Sean Surbona lead the charge for Personiv, alternating in scoring in the fourth quarter when the pesky Wells Fargo came within a point with 4:52 to play.
The dynamic duo scored 16 markers each and 24 rebounds combined for Personiv, which hiked its record to 2-1 and sent Wells Fargo to a 0-2 start.
ARMCO, meanwhile, relied mostly on Melvin Santiago and Patrick Guevarra in the demolition of Eclaro with 21 and 18 points.
With an overwhelming advantage inside the paint (48-18), ARMCO zoomed to their second straight win while Eclaro suffered the opposite and slid to 2-2.
In the other game, Ubiquity kept Allegis winless in a heartbreaking fashion, 53-52.
A split from the stripe from Jerome Lacanle was enough to lift Ubiquity to its second win after a tough stand from Allegis, which even led by five earlier in the payoff period.
Paolo Rivero kept Ubiquity afloat for most of the game with 23 points and nine rebounds while Lancanle added 10 off the bench.
Allegis, which utilized only six guys against Ubiquity, reeled to 0-4.
