SYKES Asia and Teletech continued to roll past the competition and stay unscathed in the 2018 BPO Classics Recreational Division.
After last weekend’s games at the Phenom Sports Center in Makati, SYKES Asia and Teletech moved to 5-0 in the tournament organized by One Unite Sports & Events, Inc.
SYKES Asia had the easier path to victory, though, routing Mobility Chat, 73-56.
Behind the balanced scoring of its starters, SYKES Asia buried Mobility Chat, which was undefeated prior to the game, from the getgo and led by as much as 35 points.
The starting five accounted for 60 of SYKES Asia’s 60 points with Michael Pingol leading with 17 markers, four rebounds and three assists.
Mobility Chat dropped behind the leaders in the standings with a 4-1 card.
In contrast, Teletech stopped RingCentral’s fourth quarter onslaught for the 62-55 victory.
Teletech banked on its strong start, where it led by as much as 22, to counter Ring Central’s 23-11 fourth quarter blast that cut the lead to as low as four with 4:57 to play.
Carlos Magalona carried the scoring cudgels for Teletech with 20 points while Cabading came up with 14 points and 12 rebounds in a reserve role.
It was Ring Central’s second straight setback after a 3-0 start.
Yondu, meanwhile, came up with its most dominant win yet, destroying Allegis, 101-36.
Five players scored more than 10 points for Yondu, which improved to 2-3, but Rudy Geroza stood out with 23 points on 10-of-15 shooting.
No player from Allegis’ side churned out more than eight points as they dropped to a dismal 0-5 card.
Eclaro also got back on winning track after nipping Eastvantage, 53-49.
After its demoralizing 89-37 loss to ARMCO last June 10, Eclaro bounced back and held to a slim lead in the nip-and-tuck second half against Eastvantage.
Eclaro had a luxury of fielding in 13 players against Eastvantage’s eight with Ray Managad showing the way with 16 points and 10 rebounds and Joel Jacinto adding 13 points.
In the other games, Converga got to .500 territory while Stellar BPO ended its three game losing skid.
Converga beat Ubiquity, 68-55, behind a solid first half where it held a 22-point advantage.
Behind Converga’s win as the scoring efforts from Cristopher Conde and Allan Pedrosa, who wound up with 20 and 17 points, respectively, and teamed up for 11 rebounds.
Stellar BPO, on the other hand, caught Wells Fargo napping for the 77-59 triumph.
Pouncing on Wells Fargo’s 23 turnovers, Stellar BPO got 29 whopping points off the miscues that helped them blow the game wide open.
Dan Adoremos was simply unstoppable for Stellar BPO, sizzling with 38 points and matching the output of Wells Fargo’s starters combined.
Josadech Ignacio and Erwin Flojo churned out 12 markers apiece to back up Adoremos’ effort for Stellar BPO.
Ubiquity fell to 2-3 while Wells Fargo continued its downward spiral to 0-4.
